Cashew connects you with independent, verified therapists and hosts your sessions. We are a platform, not a hospital or a clinic: your therapist is responsible for your care, and we are responsible for making sure they're qualified, verified, and honestly presented.
Cashew is not an emergency or crisis service, and it is not psychiatry — we don't diagnose, prescribe, or provide medical treatment. If you're in immediate danger, call KIRAN 1800-599-0019 (free, 24×7) or your local emergency number. The crisis line is shown on every screen for exactly this reason.
The price on a therapist's profile is the price you pay — set before you book, never at checkout. Payments run through Razorpay's secure hosted checkout; we never see or store your card details. If a payment fails, nothing is charged and your slot is held briefly so you can try again.
You can reschedule or cancel free of charge up to 12 hours before your session, no reason required and nobody will guilt you for it. Inside that 12-hour window, cancelling or rescheduling isn't available through the app — reach out to us directly if something's come up. Full details, including what happens if your therapist has to cancel, are on our cancellation policy page.
One account per person, and you must be 18 or older in V0. Keep your password to yourself — your journal and session history live behind it. You can ask us to close your account and delete your data at any time; a human processes every such request.
